Man stuck in fence during snowstorm flown to hospital
A 49-year-old Lebanon man was flown to a Sioux Falls hospital Thursday after he spent part of Wednesday night stuck to a barbed wire fence during a snowstorm.
Authorities said Dave Parsons was considered to be in critical condition when he was airlifted from Pierre and that he suffered symptoms of frostbite and hypothermia.
Hughes County Sheriff Mike Leidholt (LYD'-holt) says Parsons' body temperature was in the mid-80s.
Parsons and another man got stuck in a cornfield in rural Sully County Wednesday night or early Thursday. They spent the night in their vehicle, but during that time, Parsons left the vehicle. Read more
