Father jailed after 11-year-old crashes truck
A Rio Rancho man was booked into the Sandoval County jail Sunday evening after his 11-year-old son crashed the family truck while the man rode ahead of the vehicle on a bicycle.

Well, maybe dad swerved around with his 12" wide bicycle and forget that his 11 year old had to swerve a 4' wide vehicle around it. This guy obviously was not thinking at all. Hope we don't hear about more conduct like this. Scary! |

I bet he was drunk.
I can imagine the scenario going down in 2 different ways: Dad is at friend's / cousin's / bosse's / g-friend's / brother's / car mechanic's / etc etc etc house or softball game and gets wasted. Calls the son to ride his bike there, then decides to ride the bike home while the kid drove the truck. -or- Took the kid bike riding somewhere out in the desert. In true NM fashion, he decides to bring a 12 pack and gets wasted....thus leaving the kid to drive the truck home while he rode the bike. Hey, he was just trying to avoid a DWI! ha ha |
