Eight tornadoes hit southeastern South Dakota Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service says eight tornadoes were reported in South Dakota late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

Huge bolts of lighting lit up the sky for hours in Sioux Falls as weather warnings popped up all over the area.
