Judge temporarily halts Hawkins detachment to hear more evidence
With representatives from the Ladysmith-Hawkins and Flambeau school districts seated in the courtroom, Washburn County Circuit Court Judge Eugene Harrington temporarily halted detachment of the Hawkins area from Ladysmith schools.
May unemployment down in about 2/3 of WI's counties
The May unemployment rate is down in about two-thirds of Wisconsina s counties, and several local counties have some of the lowest figures in the state.
The unemployment rate improved in nearly every county of the state in May. The only county that didn't improve is Eau Claire, which held steady at about 6.5%. That's still one of the lowest rates in the state, along with Pepin and Buffalo.
