By KENNETH DEAN Staff Writer HENDERSON - The pit bull that attacked a 4-year-old girl two weeks ago has been put to sleep and because the dog began exhibiting signs of possible rabies exposure.

A Jacksboro man died late Sunday after a one-vehicle wreck on U.S. 259, two miles south of Kilgore in Rusk County.

By KENNETH DEAN Staff Writer HENDERSON - A day after a 10-year-old boy was mauled to death by two pit bulls, Rusk County Sheriff Danny Pirtle said a 'full scale investigation' will be conducted and the results presented to the district attorney.

Two pit bulls fatally mauled a 10-year-old Texas boy on Monday. The incident happened in Rusk County while the child was skateboarding, officials said.

If you tried to drive on Farm-to-Market Road 1716 in eastern Rusk County Tuesday morning, your path would have been blocked by a 10-foot-high wall of dirt and a 12.5 million pound piece of mining equipment.
