This banquet was commemorating the 216th Anniversary of the adoption of the Bill of Rights. The banquet was sponsored by the Tennessee Committee for the Bill of Rights and hosted by J.B. and June Griffin of Dayton, Tennessee in conjunction with the Bill of Rights Bicentennial Committee, Concordville, Pennsylvania.

Rhea County Sheriff Mike Neal released the identity of a Sunday night murder victim. Sheriff Neal says that Larry Rothwell, 49, and Joey Shirley, 44, got into a fight. Brandi Smith,30, tried to break it up but the sheriff says that Rothwell hit her in the head with the barrel of a shotgun.
