Early morning confrontation claims one

Getting charged for second degree assault and manslaughter is a joke! Antonio was ill and was literally skin and bones how are you gonna fight someone in that conditon and expect him to live. Justice has not been done this is straight out murder!

would you say there is a possiblity of drugs involved. now i have heard there is a possiblity...just a slight possiblity that drug guys from other cities are trying to move in and take over the territory...now can that be true or verified.

mmmmm just a minor suggestion. and somehow a joke will be corrected when the time comes...i do hope so if it is in this case. just some thoughts on the drug situation as i see it up and down our street today and every day and even at night...yessss. at night..can you believe it...some tongue in cheek humor but the police dept knows who is doing all this as does the SO...so rest assured justice shall prevail...lamarguy at your service.

There is still drug dealers on the streets, has been for years but one arrested?

I think it is a little strang that the victims son went to the crime scene and found AJ's wallet in the drive way! About 10 feet from where the vic layed. With a comprehensive crime scene investigation how is this possible??? The LPD was too worried about getting into this house,that they assumed all these susposed drugs were going through, to check the crime scene.... In there search for dirt on the on the victim how could they over look such pivital evidence that most def contained fingerprints. This digusts me and I think attention needs to be drawn to the subject.

Why would they arrest people??? This is a drug town based on pety arresrs of users to create revenue for our county. They take out the suppliers they screw themselves and they are aware of that. Our local dealers spend a lot of money in Lamar and in this economy the city of Lamar will take it any way they can. This town is going to shit due to the supression of anything positive or that may bring money to Lamar being vetoed by a few overpowered close minded people. Lamar is becoming a town known for violence and drugs!!! Wake up people!!

So what was worth a man loosing his life? Was it drugs, gangs, stolen items, or just another of the old Lamar family fights that end up nowhere. Like the shooting a few months ago, what was the reason? What ever it was, a man died. Every day I see stories like this and remind myself that a good number of people in this town ( and the world) are nothing more than animals and will kill for nothing. Very sad, very sad!

Regardless of the alledged drug factor this man didnt desevere to die the way he did.

Mortisha that is exactly the reason the case needs to be taken seriously!!! To set a president and a message that this type of behavior will not be tolerated period!!! I wish this family peice of mind and hope all questions will be andswered swifty and in full. No one deserves to die like that and to be treated any differently than any other Lamar resident!!

Confrontation? Sounds like a murder to me? Look at the age difference too. What is the connection?
I thought Lamar was a fairly safe community, I am starting to think different!

why arent the other parties named in this. y do they continue to hide the truth. is it because a sherrif deputy's grandchildren are involved? we all know drugs are not the reason for this happening but yes we all do know each one of these ppl's background.

wasnt adrian salinas arrested a couple months ago in that drug bust over on mullen??

Im not even going to go into the corruption in this town. Point being the a man is dead of murder 1 not 2 and def not manslaughter. The autopsy came back blunt force trama!!!!! The accused also placed a phone call to the mother of his children or x whatever that he would be needing to flee the scene....isent that premeditation. How can someone with his history, drug arrests and pure nature of this crime be let back out on my streets???? 2,500 bond??? God I hope that is a rumor for his own protection at the least. I pray for this town. I never thought we would allow this sort of nonsence to transpire. The victims family owns a buisness in our town that creates jobs, buys advertisments and moves their money locally. Im sure after this they will have nothing to do with this town.

Duhh?? Residents of Lamar are aware of this problem!!! If 80% of our population knows where the drugs come from and can point out where the drug houses are shouldent the police have a idea as well?? Things like this will continue to happen - family feuds, gang violence, etc... as long as the victims feel like justice is not being served! The Lamar PD and Prowers County SD needs to take this seriously and do everything they can to find out why this happened and bring the people responsible to justice! If not, I fear that friends or families of the victim will take justice in their own hands which will add more fuel to the fire!!! PLEASE CHIEF PHILLIPS do what is right and make sure that everyone is informed and that justice is served - don't make mistakes, don't blow it off, don't stereotype, don't act like it doesn't matter... act as if this man was your uncle, father, brother, son, friend... FOR THE SAFETY OF THE CITIZENS OF LAMAR AND FOR ITS FUTURE - do what is right and show us what you are made of and bring this issue to a close WITH JUSTICE!!!
