About 6:30 a.m., Potter County firefighters responded to a report of a tractor-trailer on fire near the Givens Avenue exit on U.S. Highway 287, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers said.

Petitions ask to remove Potter County alcohol sales restrictions
An existing Walmart and a proposed Sam's Club want to sell beer and wine, but first they have to get voters to approve removing restrictions, and an Austin firm that specializes in local option elections took the first step Friday by submitting more than 3,200 signatures on petitions asking for just that.
