We have had a nice break from the rain for the most part through this weekend, now we have more rain moving in as we finish tonight into tomorrow and Tuesday.
1,500-acre fire reported in Perkins County Sunday
The fire broke out about noon midway between Lemmon and Bison. Lemmon Assistant Fire Chief Harlan Hess says the Lemmon, Bison, Grand River, Lodgepole and Meadow fire departments in South Dakota, Hettinger and Reeder from North Dakota, the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management units fought the fire for about 3 hours.
West River antelope projection down
South Dakota hunters will have fewer chances to stalk antelope this fall because a tough winter, combined with low reproduction rates this summer, has thinned the state's herd.
Antelope licenses adjusted in 2 SD counties
The Game, Fish and Parks Department says the antelope population is down substantially because of winter storms and poor reproduction this summer.
