Judge declares mistrial in case of former Millstone Township man accused in attempting to kill lawyer

After jurors announced they were deadlocked, a Superior Court judge this morning declared a mistrial in the case of a former township man accused of trying to kill his divorce lawyer after losing custody of his children.

Man believed to have killed ex-girlfriend had been released from jail 2 hours earlier

A township man believed to have murdered his ex-girlfriend and then fatally slashed his own throat Tuesday did so two hours after being released from jail when a prosecutor's office representative recommended existing domestic violence charges filed by the victim be downgraded.

Excessive force suits all settled

The year 2007 was a dark one for the Seaside Park Police Department. By the end of that year, 14 lawsuits had been filed against the police department in federal court by people who claimed police had used excessive force against them, including, in several cases, beating and punching them while they were handcuffed.
