A former Stoddard County Sheriff's deputy suspected of killing a woman in 1979 died over the weekend, closing the case! Cape Girardeau County Coroner John Clifton pronounced 61-year-old Max Ellison dead Saturday afternoon at Saint Francis Medical Center.
