I have attended several IPA-International Police Conference sponcered events where David Mack wears his NCPD Asistant PC Badge over his jacket pocket. He peacock-walks around the events wearing a pistol, telling everyone he's a 19-year old-timer and is looking forward to retiring. What is going on here?
As an active Cop, Mack takes avantage of HR-218 LEOSA, and carries a pistol on the bade all around the country. As a retiree, with the sure-to-be-issued retired police officer ID card, and the fact that (as a political favor) NCPD will enter his name into the state's Police and Firemen's Pension System, Mack will continue to legally carry his pistol nationwide.
The power of a "RETIRED POLICE OFFICER" ID card is twice as valuable to a BUFF like Mack than it is to a real 20-year veteran. He never made a collar, never processed a perp into NC -Corrections, he never did any actual police work, yet he gets the benifit of a Police Officer's Retirement.

Notice in the artile that Lt. Glenn Miller, NYSP, never mentioned that Mack was not taken off the state pension system?

I don't see why this is such a big deal. The NYPD routinely gives out honorary police badges and parking placards to people with the right connections especially in the Hasidic community.

"Vice Chairman" is an apt title for Mack.
