Tough year for peach farmers

No floods reported as storm complex pushes away from Dallas-Fort Worth

By BILL MILLER About a half-inch of rain was reported Monday morning at a couple of North Texas locations before a robust storm complex pushed off to the east several hours later.The chance for rain had dwindled to about 20 percent by 2:30 p.m., the National Weather Service reported.

Former Montague County sheriff dies

By TIM MADIGAN Former Montague County Sheriff Bill Keating, whose long public service career began as a Fort Worth police officer but recently ended in scandal, died Thursday after collapsing at his home.Keating, 62, who left office at the end of last year, apparently had a heart attack at his rural Montague County home.
