Accidents close I-20, hamper travel west, north of Abilene
Highway travel west and north of Abilene has become hazardous, and some roads have become impassable because of accidents and drifting snow this morning, according to the Department of Public Safety.
Cotton yields up from early forecasts
Good harvest weather has turned a somewhat negative mid-summer forecast for cotton yield into a positive 4.9 million bales - up 10 percent from 2008 - across the Lone Star State.

In Mitchell County and other areas of the Rolling Plains, the favorable weather meant gins were being fed a steady helping of cotton modules, said John Senter, AgriLife Extension agent for agriculture and natural resources.
