Milwaukee seeks designer for lakefront plaza near Discovery World

Milwaukee is setting up a competition to choose a designer for an almost two-acre Lakefront Gateway Plaza next to Discovery World. The creation of the public space is part of the more than $34 million rebuild of the downtown lakefront's infrastructure .

I-94 eastbound traffic reopened after reports of 'suspicious package'

Traffic on I-94 eastbound through the Zoo Interchange was temporarily shut down Monday afternoon due to reports of a "suspicious package", according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office. Milwaukee Police say they received a call shortly after 1:00 p.m. that a suspicious item was located on the sidewalk on the 92nd Street bridge, which runs over I-94.

Homeward Bound Adoption Event

MADACC will be hosting their "Homeward Bound" dog adoption events each Saturday, June through September, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Each year MADACC takes in thousands of stray and abandoned dogs, and in 2013, 45% of those dogs were pit bull terriers or pit bull mixes. In honor of those 45%, MADACC will offer a discounted adoption fee of $45 for pit bull terriers and mixes adopted June through October.

Mukwonago man faces 5th DUI

According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, Steven Schneider, 48, of Mukwonago rear-ended a car on I-43 southbound at Silver Spring Drive and did not stop at the scene. Schneider was arrested for felony DUI-5th, DUI causing injury and hit and run of an occupied vehicle.
