At 10:32 this morning, Mecosta County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to an accident that involved a motorcycle and a car.

At 8:14 this morning, the Mecosta County Sheriff's Department was dispatched to a two car accident on 8 mile and Old state St.

Lot's of photos were taken at this event so I will wast little time with much chatter. On Thursday July 10th and 11th, I stopped by the Mecosta County Fair to see the Figure Eight Demolition Derby and the Super Kicker Rodeo. Upon early arrival I decided to take a walk around the fair and snap a few pictures. Some of the Big Rapids and greater area residents that I encountered did not mind having their picture taken, some weren't to pleased with the idea. Anyway, with out further adieu, here we go.

Hide Video A motorcyclist is hospitalized with life threatening injuries after hitting a deer in Mecosta County.

A man was able to elude officers from several police departments Saturday. Mecosta County Sheriff's Department deputies pursued a black 2008 Suzuki motorcycle reported stolen in Big Rapids.

Friday July 11, 2008, Back at the Mecosta County Fair. This time to see the Super Kicker Rodeo. Who do you think I saw first? Yep, you guest it! The same nice couple from the night before. The price was the same as the Figure Eight Demolition Derby, $10.00 per person. Kids 12 and under were able to slide by only paying $5.00.

Around 6:30 pm. this evening, Mecosta County Sheriff Deputies were pursuing a motorcycle being driven by a white male about 5' 8" and a 160 lbs with short dark hair. The man crashed the motorcycle on Spruce Rd. near 197th Ave. After the crash the suspect ran off into the woods and got away.

As you can see in the bottom photo, a very large crowd gatherd on the sidewalks in down town Big Rapids to see the Fourth of July parade.

Big Rapids - Around 12:30 this afternoon, Mecosta County Sheriff Deputies responded to a complaint from a 26 year old man who was at the Mecosta County Medical Center.
