Gang-like actions raise attention

Was a recent assault on a 13-year-old boy a gang-related incident or something more isolated? A 13-year-old boy walking home from the skate park June 11 was allegedly attacked just before 10 p.m. on the 500 block of South James Street by three teenagers who assaulted him and stole his iPod, according to Ludington police.

The storm: A year later

A year ago today the storms that flooded Mason and Manistee counties started. The rains continued through the night, a tornado hit in grant township and when folks woke up in the morning, homes were flooded and dozens of roads - including U.S. 31 between Ludington and Manistee - were washed out.
