Despite the wet, cold spring, wildfire danger is expected reach the most critical level of the spring so far on Wednesday.

The U.S. is heading into a tough wildfire season made even more challenging because budget cuts mean fewer firefighters to battle blazes, Interior Secretary Sally Jewell said Monday.

Snow still coats much of the northeastern Upper Peninsula, and Thursday's snow added to the forests of northern Luce County.

The Department of Natural Resources today announced Blind Sucker Flooding and Bodi Lake in Luce County and the Tahquamenon River in Chippewa and Luce counties will be part of angler survey efforts this spring.

The National Weather Service Offices in Gaylord and Grand Rapids have issued a Flood Watch for every county in our viewing area except Luce County through Saturday morning as melting snow and incoming rounds of heavy rain will lead to flooding concerns.
