'Daughters' remember veterans, share war stories
STAUNTON - An American flag that once flew over William Bushman's army base in Afghanistan hung proud on the stage at the Daughters of the American Revolution District Six National Defense Luncheon at Olivet Presbyterian Church on Saturday.
Virginia Omohundro Purcell, age 88, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009. She was born in Chester, Pa., raised in Fork Union and lived most of her life in Louisa County.
