If there is a perpetrator or someone in MY house and I have to dial 911 - it will be for the EMT to come get the guy laying with a couple rounds in him...so no hurry there. If you dont like guns then dont own one. If you want a gun, to it legally and get a permit to carry a gun BUT know how to use it and WHEN to use it. They do stats on gun crime because so many people are so against it. Thats there choice to rely on the 911 calls and police to come SAVE them; and thats their choice. I choose to protect myself and my family, legally, and with deadly force if necessary. A person with a gun and trained and with a permit has to be willing to do the same otherwise you just have a $1000 tool for show. Being ex-military, so many antigun or progun people are ALL FOR OUR TROOPS...people they carry guns, they are trained to shoot to kill, not wound, not hurt. You have to be mentally ready to do that and most people, progun or antigun are not. I digress but just my opinion. And BTW, IF a perp did enter my house and was shot and killed - and IF the stupidity of a court sent me to prison - that is well worth the price of the safety of my family.
i agree with your way of thinking. but.. you dont have to have a permit to have a gun in your home. neither is there any laws about buying a gun other than from a federal licensed dealer.lots of misunderstandings about gun ownership.. oh and by the way a person wouldnt go to prison for protecting themselves from mexicans or any other minority with a g 18 for all the gun scared people out there. look on the belt of every law dog. they have one and it makes them feel secure when they have to deal with the nuts that are wlaking around loose out of their cages
