Sheriff raids poppy field near Lebanon

Police raided a poppy field in a clearcut east of here and pulled over 8,000 plants Tuesday after surveillance failed to generate any leads in the case.

Tornado warnings issued for parts of Oregon

We're not in Kansas anymore, Toto. A tornado warning was in effect for central Marion County and north-central Linn County until 4 p.m. At 3:35 p.m., National Weather Service radar showed a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado near Lyons, 17 miles west of Detroit, moving northwest at 20 mph.
