The road will take traffic from the city of Fort Myers, down Hanson Street into in the Forum neighborhood east of I-75. Lee County's population sits at about 645,000 people.

A pedestrian walking on Daniels Parkway was hit and killed by a truck early Monday morning, according to Lee County deputies. Deputies responded just before 2 a.m. to Daniels Parkway and American Colony Boulevard.

Deputies search for missing 90-year-old man

LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Deputies are asking for the public's assistance in locating a missing 90-year-old man. Donald Gingell left his residence located on the 10000 block of Oxbow Rd. at approximately 9:30 a.m. today to deliver newspapers to St. Vincent de Paul Church on Palm Beach Blvd. When his wife called him at 11:30 a.m., she says Gingell became upset and hung up the phone.

Caloosahatchee Bridge could get name change

"The model T is the beginning of the modern day affordable car," Site Historian at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates John Telischak said. "Most of us have lived here long enough that we're going to go over that bridge no matter what it's called, Lee County Commissioner Brian Hamman said.

Suspect sought in Bonita Springs robbery

We have new details on a Tuesday morning robbery that started at Walgreens in Bonita Springs and led the victim and suspect about a mile away. According to the incident report from the Lee County Sheriff's Office, the victim was in her vehicle leaving Walgreens at the corner of Imperial Parkway and Bonita Beach Road SE just before 8 a.m. Her vehicle was approached by a white male showing a gun who told the victim to unlock the doors.
