Dauphin County man charged in DUI crash that killed woman in Lancaster County

LANCASTER CO., Pa- The Lancaster County District Attorney's Office has charged Mitchell Runk, 27, of Londonderry Township, Dauphin County with Homicide by Vehicle while DUI in a 2013 fatal crash. It happened on September 21, 2013 on Route 230 at Cedar Road in Donegal Township.

Shooting Monday night in Lancaster County ruled suicide, state police say

The death of a teenager found shot Monday night in Strasburg Township , Lancaster County has been ruled a suicide, according to state police. Troopers were called to the 200 block of Georgetown Road just before 9:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting victim.

Motorcyclist killed in Chester County crash

Police say 29-year-old Robert Ference of New Holland, Lancaster County, died on Route 10/Compass Road in Honey Brook Township. Officials said they are investigating the crash which happened between 12:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. just south of Walnut Road.

One killed, one injured, in Lancaster County motorcycle crash

State Police in Lancaster County are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that left one person dead and another injured Sunday evening. According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Lancaster, the driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene and the motorcycle passenger was brought to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment of leg and head injuries.

Firefighters climb to remember fallen heroes

Firefighters in Lancaster County tackled the steps of Clipper Magazine Stadium on Sunday, for the 4th Annual Lancaster 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. 250 firefighters from up and down the east coast climbed the steps of the stadium multiple times, for a total of 110 stories, representing the number of floors in the World Trade Center Towers.

Underground Railroad tour eyes York County

Thirty-eight people climbed into a bus Sunday morning and traveled to Wrightsville and throughout Lancaster County to hear the history of the Underground Railroad in this region. The day-long event was hosted by the Columbia Historic Preservation Society as part of its Origins of the Underground Tour, which highlights nine stops, including a drive-by of the Mifflin family home in Wrightsville.

Strongman competition at the York Fair features keg tosses, truck pulls

Jon Pietrolaj of Hallam lifts a 240-pound keg - after doing the same with a 200-pound keg and a 220-pound keg - while competing in the 2014 Pennsylvania Strongman Competition on Saturday at the York Fair. This is the third year the York Fair has hosted the competition, which features five events and culminated this year in a truck pull event.

Police standoff in Ephrata ends with man walking out: reports

A more than 13-hour standoff with Lancaster County CERT ended with the Maryland man, barricaded inside a house, walking out without incident, according to media reports. Gabrialle Marin, 41, surrendered to police around 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Ephrata house where he came to see his ex-wife and son, according to CBS21 .
