Several years ago I purchased the Bennington Flag. I was proud to display it since one of my ancestors was at the Battle of Bennington.

Brandon Gust, a state Game, Fish & Parks conservation officer serving the Lake County area, has been named the 2008 South Dakota Boating Officer of the Year by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators.

MARION - Authorities have released the name of a Turner County sheriff's deputy who was shot and killed at a farmhouse west of Marion this morning.

Deputy Chad Mechels was a five year law enforcement veteran. Prior to Turner County he also served in Lake and Kingsbury counties.
