Our hearts and prayers go out to this man and his family.
I can only say everyone PLEASE take the advice from this article. Just recently I was at the Safeway shopping center with my child, who I am doing independent study with for two weeks to avoid this illness that has invaded our school, when a woman came walking up to merchandise that was place outside of a store. Her little girl started coughing and sneezing all over the merchandise. It was clear that her little one was very ill. How many will come after and touch and handle the items covered with the germs of this sick little girl? I was appalled. It's time that everyone take this seriously and if you or a family member are sick, please keep them home or in the car if you must go out. If they are too young to leave at home alone or in a car, please get a mask for them and watch what they handle closely when you are out in public! Once again Our prayers go out to this man's family and may there be no more deaths from this horrible illness! |

PS If anyone from Safeway in Lakeport is reading this could you please have the disinfecting wipes outside the store near the carts like Hardesters does. I had to touch the cart first and it felt slimy. I then found the wipes inside the store by the deli. Your customers would prefer to wipe the germs off before they handle the carts. A couple of other people I know have said the same thing. On told me they even asked your store this same request already. Thank you, a loyal customer

I was just at Club Mac in lakeport with my family. We had decided that we were only going to go through the drive through while this epidemic was prevalent, but my spouse was with us and we hadn't had a chance to eat together for many days because of our schedules. So we ate inside. just as we were getting ready to leave out the front door a parent opened the door and in came a boy with a severe cough not covering his mouth at all! My spouse grabbed the kids and said, "we're leaving now"! We quickly exited out the back door. You know that was just the one we were able to see, who had been in the restaurant before us? Had the tables been disinfected? I think we'll not be eating in for a while.
Our sympathy goes out to that mans family, God Bless. |

hearts n prayers & not eatin in,
Yes it is appaling these people are allowed to roam freely about and spread their germs. I think our government should take anyone who coughs or sneezes in a public place and move them to a detention center. |

Wow, are you people just not getting it? Is it so hard to understand that we need to stop the spread of H1N1. Why would anyone be offended by being asked to please stay home when they are sick or use common courtesy and health habits to prevent the spread of this pandemic. If you or a family member came down with H1N1, would you still be so sarcastic about it? Come on people let’s all work together in helping to stop the spread of H1N1.

Do you think the family of the man that just died thinks this is a joke? I imagine not. I think if I had a family member of mine that died of this horrible flue I would be livid at anyone who appeared to be careless with how they are spreading germs. We are terribly sorry for their loss.

We are purposely staying away from our elderly parents and in-laws at this time because we have children in school and we do not want to expose them. It's just the polite and caring thing to do for those you care about, that includes those in our community we may not even know. If any of us do come down with H1N1 we will not be going out in public while we are sick! We hope that the rest of our community would give us the same descent courtesy.

The H1N1 has not killed as many people as it was first made out that would be dying of this virus. But there have been hundreds in California alone that now have died from this. No that's not a lot compared to the total population of california, but I think that H1N1 has been a test for us as a nation and a community of how we behave and help stop the spread of this kind of thing. If we can't handle this virus, what is going to happen to us when those viruses that follow that are potentially stronger and deadlier hit?

I agree, I hope everyone wakes up and takes this more seriously. My great-grandmother died of influenza after giving birth to twins and had several other children to boot. It was an epidemic and many died. It's not like it's never happened in the United States before. And has anyone ever heard of the the "Black Death"? They still don't know exactly what was the cause of that. Not enough vaccinations, questionable vaccinations, laxed ideas on the spread of germs, slow test results, conflicting information, etc.. It’s no wander we can’t stop the spread of this thing!

Uh, you're actually a lot more at risk from eating at McDonald's than from H1N1.
|

|
Um, actually H1N1 has already spread all over California. Stopping the spread is a little late.

Hey to burst your bubble, the Plague has been very well documented. Bubonic plague killed millions, traveling along the old trade routes. It's probably the best-documented disease in history and no mystery at all. Plague still pops up from time to time, even in the U.S. |

H1N1 is a joke of a virus. I am very sorry for the family whose loved one was lost, but I think the virus is being blown way out of proportion. Everyone is complaining about how the H1N1 has killed just over 1000 people now, but no one stops to look at how many more people have died of the seasonal flu(13,000 as of April in the US, between 250,000 and 500,000 world wide). The only people who should be getting the vaccine for swine flu are the elderly, infants, and those with medical complications. vaccines hurt the immune system and fighting the flu off does not only take care of that strain of virus but provides immunity to many other strains, the vaccine does not do the same. I suggest if you don't want the human immune system to be that of a terminal aids patient in the next few decades, that you back off the vaccines and forget about the swine flu. I am a high school student and come in to contact with the sickly on a daily basis. Am i worried? NO Should I be? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Unlike the idiots posting on this forum who are fretting about H1N1, I have done my research.

For those of you who are abusing the vaccine, when the virus mutates into a slightly different stain in a few months because of your abuse, you will be just a suscepable if not more so(because lack of vaccines) than you were when H1N1 origionally started up. People such as myself, who have just let our immune systems fight it off, will have no problem fighting off the new stain.
