Arcadia Co-op and Allied Co-op agree to merge

The members of agricultural cooperatives Arcadia Cooperative of Arcadia in Trempealeau County have voted to merge with Allied Cooperative of West Salem in La Crosse County. The deal marks yet another instance of Wisconsin ag co-ops growing in size through a merger.

Accused cat burglar has warrant out for her arrest

A La Crosse woman who is charged with stealing 15 cats from the Onalaska Humane Society has a bench warrant out for her arrest. Lee Ann Shore, 46, is accused of breaking into the Humane Society in May to get her cats back after Animal Control removed them from her home due to the poor living conditions.

Potential highway swap has community upset

Man convicted in Sara Hougom death wants to withdraw plea

One of the two men convicted in the death of 20-year-old Sara Hougom filed a post-conviction motion on Monday to withdraw his guilty plea. On November 5, 2012, a La Crosse County judge sentenced Pao Choua Vue and his nephew Kong Ryit Vue to 35 years in prison on a first-degree reckless homicide charge.

Grant Co. homicide suspect deals with more charges in La Crosse Co.

The court cases of Timmy L. Johnson continued in La Crosse County court Friday. He's the man accused of kidnapping and killing a Platteville cab driver on June 13. Later that night, he led police on a chase with the cab in La Crosse County before crashing near Holmen which resulted in several criminal charges here.
