A Newton man is jailed in Jasper County accused of sending explicit text messages and photos to a 12-year old Evadale girl.

According to Chief Deputy Ralph Nichols, an investigation recently began after the child's mother discovered the messages on the girl's cell phone and contacted the Sheriff's Department.

Searchers have found a child reported missing earlier Monday near Kirbyville, according to Steve Stewart with KJAS Radio.
