Fire flares in Trinidad, fades in McNeil Canyon

Douglas County Fire District 2 crews quickly knocked down the approximately 2-acre fire off Mansfield Road and then headed over to help with the Baird Springs fire, which kept crews busy all morning and resulted in a brief closure of Highway 28 around 6 a.m. By 9:30 a.m., Fortier said, the fire appeared to be almost out.
