At a combined work session and regular meeting on July 22, 2014, Grant County commissioners first heard public input, before addressing the agenda.
The Grant County Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with the New Mexico D.A.R.E. Officers' Association, will host a D.A.R.E. conference at the Grant County Business and Conference Center from July 30 to Aug. 1. The purpose of the conference is recertification of all NM D.A.R.E. officers and the new curriculum to be used this school year.
According to New Mexico State Police Sgt. Scott Merrill, a motorcycle and its operator were involved in a crash on U.S. Highway 180 between mile markers 24 and 25 near Hurley at 12:40 p.m., on Wednesday, July 23. The motorcyclist, whose identity was ascertained from unofficial sources, is Don White Jr. of Grant County.
