While on one hand, abuse is a serious issue, on the other hand I'd hate to think that the poor woman in the van who in Monday's paper got reported to the state police for slapping her bratty kid, gave you the idea for this story!

yes I agree, when I read it I thought someone is going to take our rights away from us correcting our children. Although sometimes, SOME PEOPLE , get out of hand .. I am not in favor of that, however lots of people don't do anything and that is where we get the brats and undisciplinened children running around.

What this article is missing is advice to help. We volunteer as ministers to the elderly and reach out to the poor when the opportunity arises. Social Service Organizations are out there and need volunteers. At the very least, please pray for them.

Well, I know one of the cases was fabricated. My sister was going through a very messy divorce and her soon to be ex wanted custody. So, he call CPS and they had to investigate. They were great social workers and went away knowing that it was my soon to be ex brother in law who was/is crazy. How sad that the idiot waited time that should have been spent helping children who truly needed it.

some of the kids need it. they are outta control. I truly feel sorry for elderly abuse though. Not saying every kid should be beaten but many cases are just minor and get blown out of proportion.
