Grain Truck into Swamp: Driver Missing

A search is underway for a missing grain truck driver in Freeborn County. Authorities say the truck drove into a swamp near the intersection of 725th Avenue and County Road 14 just north of Albert Lea.

United Way is a quarter of way to campaign target

With about two months left in its 2009 Live United campaign, the United Way of Freeborn County has raised just more than a quarter of its campaign goal of $645,000. United Way of Freeborn County Executive Director Ann Austin said Monday the organization has raised $170,000 through various fundraisers and corporate gifts.
