Associated Press Writer with Messenger reports MONTPELIER, Vt. - Federal immigration officials are cracking down on Vermont dairy farmers as part of a national effort, asking them to provide records to prove their workers are legal.

Federal immigration officials served subpoenas on at least four Vermont dairy farms Thursday as part of a national crackdown on businesses suspected of using immigrant workers who have entered the country illegally.

Gervais has 22 workers-- nine of them are Mexican. While he believes all of them are legal, he says there's no way to prove their papers are legit.

Police unable to say if it ties to local cases By LEON THOMPSON Messenger Staff Writer ROCHESTER Following two bank robberies in Franklin County, police are now on the lookout for a pair of men they believe committed another robbery at the Randolph National Bank here early Thursday morning.
