Athens County joins Fairfield-Hocking Major Crimes Unit

In addition to investigating major crimes, with a heavy focus on drug trafficking, in Fairfield and Hocking counties, detectives will now also work directly with the Athens County Sheriff's Office, Athens' and Nelsonville's city police departments, and the Ohio University Police Department, in addition to the Athens County Prosecutor's Office.

Cavinee, 44, of Nelsonville, was indicted on possession of heroin, a fourth-degree felony; aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony; and possessing drug abuse instruments, a first-degree misdemeanor.
