I've gotta say that I've seen so much abuse of this program in the many places I've lived and have been around it. So much fraud by home-based daycares and by family members who supposedly watch the kids all day. I have come to think it is not a good program. If you babysit kids or run a home daycare, the cost you charge to parents should factor in your operating costs like food (and toys, blankets, activities, etc.) and your should set your rate accordingly--just like any other business.

Why is any of this relevant to her job? Obviously, the woman has been doing her job for 20 years... She must be doing something right! This program is great.... Keep up the wonderful work.

Elaine getting family members to post positive comments for you is such typical behavior for you. You should watch who you get to do your dirty work for you because they like to squak

So TYPICAL for some one who is so jealous of such a successful woman to knock on the positive comments. Why don't you get a life and grow up. Maybe one day someone will have something nice to say about you... but then maybe not, since obviously all you like to do is squawk.

"in the know" and "first hand knowledg", why is it necessary for you to post these kinds of comments? This is a positive story about a program that is successful in feeding many hungry and needy kids. You're personal feelings about Ms. Hensley are not relevent or needed. This is obviously a weak and ignorant attempt on your part to slander someone for whom you harbor much jealousy and envy. Grow up and move on.

I'm sorry but I have to pipe in here. Being a successful woman in a govt job is usually the result of affirmative action more than her performance or qualifications.[putting on flame-proof jumpsuit]

SHAME ON YOU Carlsbad Current Argus!!!! Does anyone monitor the !@#@! that is posted on here? This article was "KUDOS" to a program that MANY, feel is positive an beneficial in our community. If you are so "in the know" and have "first hand knowledge" then "put up or shut up"!!! If you have knowledge and proof about problems with the program, then go to the people who can make the changes or look into the program. Don't just post on here anonymously and spew insults and slander! The article was about the program....not Elaine personally. This was a positive article....CCA you should be keeping it that way.

Hey, my first post was a legitimate post and complaint about this program. I don't understand why people have to use this as a forum to sling dirt anonymously. I'm new to Carlsbad and don't know anyone at this dept.

what i don't understand is how we as a nation can continue to subsidize our auto industry,bail-out all the banks(ie:shareholder) and insurance co, use the might of our military to protect big oil's intrests and still supply hungry children with a nutritious meal.it's not like we're a wealthy nation.(not after bush anyway) we must continue to funnel all of our resoures to the wealthy, becouse they're good at saving it. oh,by the way, more pink-slips are on the way.

Oh, don't worry LibStomper, all those baby machines in production around the world are setting their kids up for a crazy and interesting future. You think the world is going to hellfire now, you just keep watching the news. More people wish to live by the sea and other disaster areas are all shocked when nature attacks. But, don't worry your tax dollars will be there to bail them out.
The more the population grows, you notice more killings.
Some people might think this is entertainment, Foxnews and CNN maybe.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Taurus

It's no good - the prospect of visiting the post-Christmas sales has become too tempting for you to resist any longer. No matter what you're doing today, you'll try to squeeze in the opportunity to dash around some of your favourite shops and see what's on offer. You could snap up some bargains but you should guard against the urge to splurge on items that you don't really want or need. The price of something may have been slashed but the acid test is whether you'd still buy it if it were full price. If not, leave it in the shop!
