Cemetery in Loving damaged after 9+ inches of weekend rain
One New Mexico village got nearly a year's worth of rain in one day. Loving, in Eddy County, got over nine inches of rain on Friday.
Loving rain storm could classify as natural disaster
It's a part of the state known for it's dry weather and high temperatures, but now southeastern New Mexico looks less like a desert and more like a swamp. "It was coming down more than I've seen in my lifetime," said Eddy County Agriculture Extension Agent Woods Houghton.

Carlsbad Police arrest 15-year-old for bomb threat at Carlsbad High
CARLSBAD >> Carlsbad Police arrested a 15-year-old boy on Friday for allegedly making a bomb threat at Carlsbad High School Sept. 5. He was charged with one count of making an unlawful bomb scare after detectives with the Carlsbad Police Department concluded a week-long investigation.
Caverns closed because of rainfall, Guadalupe Mountains remain open
CARLSBAD >> Carlsbad Caverns National Park closed early on Friday afternoon because of a threat of flash flooding in the area. Continued storms have drenched Eddy and Lea counties since Thursday evening, leading to record rainfall in Loving and flash floods in the northern part of Artesia, according to the National Weather Service.

Ruidoso approves revenue guarantee for Phoenix flights
Showing their support for new scheduled flights from Roswell to Phoenix, Ruidoso village councilors pledged $25,000 per year for two consecutive years toward a revenue guarantee for American Airlines. Ruidoso Tourism Director Gina Kelley told councilors Tuesday that the money will come from lodgers tax in the years 2016 and 2017.
Police seize evidence after bomb threat at P.R. Leyva

Police did not find any explosive devices and did not make any arrests after searching the school for about an hour and a half.
