It's horrific that a young child died. No doubt about it. I do not believe Thomas Chadeayne made the U-turn maliciously. He was just plain stupid, concerned and blinded by his desire to get to work on time.
If we as a society were to jail everyone who did stupid things there'd be no one on the streets, or driving cars. And we wouldn't need teachers, or priests, or police officers, or politicians because they'd all be locked up also. Think about the dumb stupid things you've done, or your family members or friends have done. Do we jail them all? No. Unfortunately we can not bring back the child, but hopefully this incident will pop into your mind if/when you want to make a U-turn on a major highway. |
