Former Doddridge County Sheriff Indicted on Eight Sex Charges - WBOY-TV

I was hoping this wasn't true.

As his daughter, I can tell you that it isn't true.

What is a shame is, that a grown man would stoop to such a level as this to try and ruin my father and my family and his own children's lives. He already tried to ruin my sister's life and by the grace of God and a family who loves her, he failed. He will fail this time too, for we all reap what we sow, if not in this life, then the next, isn't that right Donnie!

We all have to remember that ALL that is given to the Grand Jury is the Prosecutor's side to the story. The Defendant does NOT get a chance to defend himself and the Grand Jury ONLY heard the evidence against a person.
HE HAS NOT BEEN PROVEN GUILTY NOR HAS HE HAD A CHANCE TO PROVE HIS INNOCENCE!

My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

Poor guy, he's screwed whether he did it or not. People form their opinions within seconds of hearing anything. People "think" they know the "so-called" truth within a split second or two.

If this guy did do it (he may be innocent)then he isn't alone, others do it but they just haven't been caught and they may never be caught.

I don't know this man (the former sheriff) but his fate is already determined and maybe in seventeen years he will be proven innocent. Until then we would hope that "if" the "so-called victims" actually have lied... then they will tell the truth. I too am very sorry for the mans family and if he is innocent, then I am incredibly sorry for him.

Mel we love you ! And with all these types of charges whether you are guilty or not the sitgma associated with these charges follow you forever..I can't imagine this man doing anything to hurt a child- he seems like a loving grandfather at least to my neice and to all those I have ever seen him around. The truth will prevail this I hope..I love you Mel very much and I know this is so hard for you and the rest of your family. We are hanging in there for you Mel, your dad and the rest of your family. Innocent until proven quilty beyond a reasonable doubt is our right in this country so all those who say vicious things should wait until the absolute truth comes forward. The proof !! What ever that may be will be either proven or not. I am hoping for the best of ending to these charges - proven innocent beyond a resonable doubt. Hang in there and know there are plenty of persons in this county and others that just do not believe this !Love to you all ! Di & janice

I should have worded my post better. I still DO hope it isn't true! I was hoping that after the Grand Jury met, it would be over. I wish your family didn't have to go through all of this.

Who is Donnie? Is he the accuser and is an adult now? Is his name being protected by law or is it public information?

You people kill me! I understand (I guess) family trying to save face, nobody wants to believe their father could do something like this. However, with two victims and another witness coming forward... not looking good.

Justice will prevail during the trial. I feel sorry for the victims and what the family has put them through.

Are you a victim of this man, speaking out? Innocent until proven guilty. If you have information to prove that he's guilty, get off your computer and talk to the PA. If he is guilty, that doesn't make his daughter guilty, she would be a victim also....especially if she didn't know it was going on. People can accuse anyone of anything, that doesn't make it true. Let the judicial system run it's course. That's what it's there for.
