"Free' money'" It's no surprise that security funds went for TVs, boats, lawnmowers
NO one should have been surprised that state inspectors found $15 million in questionable spending of Homeland Security grants by California agencies.

Bottom Line: Government is incompetent. Especially government staffed primarily by civil service labor union employees who intall politicians to do their bidding.

Actually local and state agencies will gt a chance to screw the taxpayer again. Do you really think anything will come out of this "inspection"?

If Tony can get a 44 foot boat on this meager Homeland Security money he can get a VIP "Presidential" helicopter on health care money and claim it is for medical emergency transport. Maybe they can revive that Lockheed VH-71 program after all ;<)

Times are hard for everybody, it is a shame some people think they can just do whatever they want to do with other people's money. Some people are really having a hard time, losing there jobs (killing themselves and other family members because of it) unfortunately, they don't get a second chance.

There is no such thing as free money.
Maybe if the government had to earn their money, they'd be more responsible about how it is spent. |

Do what is right? These city and county officials are lazy crooks, stealing tax payer money for luxury toys for themselves and their departments. AND NOW they are telling us that there is NO money left and they are laying off workers.
They are criminals. They should be arrested, tried, convicted, and put in jail where they belong. NO MERCY!!!! |

You knuckleheads. If you would have done more research, you would have known the Homeland Security boat is used on the LA Harbor to intercede suspicious ships that could possibly bring harmful objects into one of the busiest ports in the world. In other words, they try to prevent tetrrorist from blowing us up. Isn't that what the funds are intended for ?

Until the day citizens approve expenditures by all 'government levels' including Education of OUR MONEY, it will never-ever be done right....All purchases of substantial amounts like the 44 boat and sports coup, should be presented to the public for approval..Gov't crys about no money, well if you managed it correctly and honestly in the first place, you would have the money for OUR public services and not your personal toys and high lifestyle! You serve US, we dont serve you or provide your means of living! Get a clue and stop whinning!
