The GBI Crime Lab has identified the body found last week in a Coffee County cotton field as Tina Davis of Coffee County, W/F, 42 years of age.

On Thursday, October 29, 2009, the Coffee County Sheriff's Office was contacted at approximately 10:11 a.m. in reference to a farmer finding a body in his cotton field located off a dirt road on 441 north of Broxton.

Farmer Stan Clough made the discovery in his cotton field near Highway 441 between Broxton and Pridgen.

Overall entry numbers were down slightly from previous years, but average quality scores were high at last week's Southeast Hay Contest, held in conjunction with the Sunbelt Agricultural Expo in Moultrie, GA.

According to the GBI, 34 year old Jason Rish died from a gun-shot wound after he confronted a homeowner at his house following an altercation.

The FBI says Cecil Stephen Haire is the notorious Limping Bandit who robbed at least 23 banks across the Southeast over the past three years.

The first happened in Douglas, just after 11:30 AM, at the intersection of McNeil and Chester Roads.
