More strong to severe thunderstorms are possible in central Indiana Tuesday as a storm system draped across the state becomes active again.

The storm damage in Clinton County was relatively minor. In the Frankfort area residents described a few frightening moments, but the only structure to sustain any real damage was a brand new barn.

A tornado warning was in effect until 6:45 pm for Clinton County. Trained weather spotters saw a rotating wall at around 6:28 pm near Kirklin, eight miles east of Frankfort, moving east at 30 mph.

Weather spotters have indicated a funnel cloud near Thorntown in Boone County. Radio scanner traffic indicated trained weather spotters were tracking a funnel cloud on the ground between Thorntown and Sheridan around 8 p.m. Saturday.

Recently, Lt. Governor Becky Skillman announced that 26 rural communities will receive Community Focus Fund grants totaling $11,781,699. The grants are funded by the federal Community Development Block Grant program, which is administered by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
