The Concerned Citizens committee in Choctaw County is in favor a resolution that was passed by Choctaw County commissioners this past Tuesday.

Scores of people turned out for the highly anticipated vote Tuesday morning. In fact, because of the large crowd, the meeting had to be moved into a small courtroom.

The concerned citizens group in Choctaw County will gather this Tuesday morning to propose allowing voters to decide whether the county should change from its current district system to a unit system.

A federal judge has ordered Choctaw County to consolidate all seventh through 12th graders at Ackerman High School while leaving grades K through 8 at schools in Ackerman, Weir and French Camp.
