Jury finds Elmiran guilty of two rapes Updated at
An Elmira man was found guilty Friday of breaking into two apartments, raping the female occupants and then robbing one of them. A Chemung County jury found Casey J. Wilson, 25, of Elmira, guilty of two counts of first-degree rape, two counts of first-degree sexual assault and one count of first-degree robbery all class B felonies and two counts of third-degree aggravated sexual abuse, a class D felony.

Tornado hit upstate NY, some damage, no injuries
Meteorologists have confirmed that a tornado touched down in upstate New York during storms Tuesday evening, causing some damage but no injuries. The national Weather Service tells the Elmira Star-Gazette the EF-1 tornado caused damage to several barns and houses in the Chemung County town of Baldwin at about 7 p.m. A twister of that magnitude would have winds of about 100 mph.

Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Dog
A man is in jail for animal cruelty charges after killing a dog at a hotel. State Police at Horseheads reports Michael J. Cornell from Elmira, was arrested Saturday after it was alleged he killed a six year old Pomeranian dog while at a hotel in the Town of Catlin.
