Schools cautious after 3 New Mexico children's deaths

I'm not sure I believe that absentee rates are normal. One teacher told me 10 students were missing from her 5th-grade class, out of 26.

I was told by the school that over 120 absences were reported on Wednesday, so no, absenteeism rates are not normal right now.

12 out of 32 in my class including me. Also you don't have to have a fever with swine.

I had mine home sick all week from CRMS. Ive wondered when it would hit the news. 30-40 % is what I heard. Been pretty hushed up though. I would have liked to have known ahead of time, at least I wouldn't have bothered to take her to the clinic had I known it was going around.

It's hasn't been the flu that has students home. This year seems to be the year for strep throat.

My class at NMSU had 17 out of 54 absent yesterday, most due to sickness.
