Allegedly Drunk Boca Driver Paralyzes Pompano Beach Woman

Boca Raton resident Michael Anguille is in the Broward County Jail after deputies say he drove drunk and crashed into a woman in Lighthouse Point, paralyzing her. A woman was paralyzed and remains in critical condition after being struck by a drunk driver Sunday night in Lighthouse Point.

State approves insurance hike in Keys

The state Office of Insurance Regulation has approved windstorm insurance rate increases for the Florida Keys and other areas of the state covered by Citizens Property Insurance Corp. Single-family homeowners will see an 8.1 percent increase in their windstorm rates. By comparison, Miami-Dade County property owners are facing a 0.5 percent increase, and Broward County owners are looking at a 5.7 percent increase, according to Citizens, the insurer of last resort in Florida.
