By THOMAS JENKINS Staff Writer Firefighters from three different agencies converged on a fire in Borden County Monday afternoon that destroyed a one-story home and threatened to spawn a wildfire, according to officials.

Lawmakers recently took a tour of Borden County that was noteworthy not for all the people they saw but for the wide open spaces.

Last weekend, three members of the Texas House of Representatives representing districts east of Interstate 35 joined their colleague Joe Heflin for a tour of sparsely populated Borden County.
