ALBERT CITY Lone grocery store destroyed by blaze A fire has destroyed a small northwest Iowa town's only grocery store.

July 7, 2008-- Boone County authorities say a 5-year-old boy has been killed by another child in an accidental shooting.

Plans for an ethanol plant in Boone County have been scrapped with the closing of Alternative Energy Sources Inc.

Alternative Energy Sources Inc. is closing its doors after being unable to raise enough money for a proposed ethanol plant in Iowa and failing to expand its ethanol management consulting business.
