The man who allegedly shot his sister's girlfriend is in custody after last week's incident on Stokely Street in Cartersville.

On Saturday just after 10 p.m., a Bartow County Sheriff's Office deputy was dispatched to a Brandy Lane address in reference to a medical call later to be determined as an aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act, according to an incident report.

The people listed on the Bartow County jail's intake report were arrested and booked into the jail but are not convicted, therefore are presumed innocent until the court system settles their cases.

On Friday, at approximately 9:10 p.m. on Red Top Mountain Road and Waterside Drive in Emerson, the Bartow County Sheriff's Office and Georgia State Patrol conducted a highway safety check, during which two men fled on foot.
