Kline joins United Way of York County

United Way of York County recently hired Lora Kline to join its team as director of strategic impact. In this role, Kline will be responsible for overseeing the organization's early childhood and other strategic initiative work, assist with the development of measures for success and work closely with a variety of community organizations and volunteers integral to United Way's collective impact in the county.

Anderson church joins Upstate Heritage Quilt Trail

The Road to Jericho Quilt block now hangs on the cemetery side of the sanctuary at Roberts Presbyterian Church in Anderson. The quilt block was designed from a quilt made from fabrics collected over several decades by Clara Webb Lindsay, in 1995.

Deputies: Burglars remove window to enter home

Master Deputy Jonathan Smith said deputies were called to the home in the 1400 block on Cooley Bridge Road near Belton just before 2 p.m. Smith said deputies received a call from residents that stated they had seen a black pickup truck with primer on the hood and left quarter panel driving away from their home towards Anderson County and saw a person running into the woods from behind the home. Deputies said the burglars removed a window from the back of the residence to get inside.

Anderson County rescue owner found guilty of animal neglect and unfit conditions

An Easley woman has been found guilty of animal neglect and unfit living conditions for the animals in her care, Fox Carolina reported September 9. Deborah Sheridan was found guilty of 12 counts of animal neglect and four counts of unfit living conditions in an Anderson County jury trial. Prosecutors said Sheridan, who cared for the animals at Golden S Rescue , failed to have 12 or her dogs vaccinated.

ACSO: Woman found in woods, naked, bloody after attacking husband

Anderson County deputies say they used K-9 units over the weekend to locate a 40-year-old woman who attacked her husband and injured herself before running naked into the woods. Deputies said a 54-year-old man said he and his wife, Tina Robinson, had been arguing about her "being on dope and being gone for days" when she punched him and then went after him with a knife that she ended up stabbing into the wall near him.
