Devon Energy Corp.'s net earnings for the third quarter 2009 dropped 81 percent to $499 million, as compared to $2.6 billion for the same three-month period in 2008, due to declining revenues from oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids sales.
Last quarter, I was crooning that anything Devon Energy can do, they can do better -- they being Devon's fellow independent exploration and production outfits.
