Yeshiva University has taken out a $175 million, 10-year loan from the Kansas City-based UMB Bank to refinance five of the university's educational buildings in Manhattan. The debt takes the place of previous short-term loans coming due at the end of this fiscal year, a spokesperson for the school told the New York Observer.

VanTrust closes on Plaza-area buildings, will move HQ

VanTrust, which was already based in the 12-story UMB building at 4900 Main St., will take over the entire fourth floor for its headquarters, Dave Harrison said. VanTrust President Dave Harrison said his firm closed with seller DST Systems Inc. last week on two office buildings, a retail strip and a development site along a stretch of Main Street south of the Plaza.

2 executives offer to pay for Kemper destruction

Neal Patterson, CEO of Cerner Corp., said Wednesday that he and Mariner Kemper, CEO of UMB Financial Corp., will pay for the demolition of the little-used Kansas City arena. The two men are supporting a proposal to tear down the arena and replace it with a smaller building to be used for American Royal and other events.
